MARKET FOCUS
U.S. stocks ended little changed on Monday, with the market slipping into quieter trading ahead of the Christmas holiday, with U.S. markets closed on Friday.
The drug sector remained under pressure after Pfizer continued to deal with findings that its anti-arthritis Celebrex treatment is associated to risk of cardio-vascular problems.
Sprint, which has announced its plan to acquire Nextel rallied on an outlook for strength in the wireless sector.
OUTLOOK
In a quiet week, investors will look for the revision to the third-quarter GDP growth, expected at 3.9 percent.
THE NUMBERS
The Dow Jones Industrial Average added 11 points, or 0.1 percent, to 10,661. The Nasdaq Composite index lost 7 points, or 0.3 percent, to 2,127 while the Nasdaq-100 index of large capitalization tech and biotech stocks ended off 0.2 percent at 1,591.
